Environmental Building Strategies is working with the UA Local 38 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union on their new training facility in South San Francisco. As both the LEED consultants and the Commissioning Agent, we have found efficiency in both the Cx quality control measures as well as the LEED Documentation. We're excited as this facility serves an educational function by helping graduates gain the skills and knowledge they need to count themselves among the very best plumbers, steam fitters, refrigeration and air-conditioning mechanics in the world.

The Merchants Exchange Building, located in the heart of San Francisco's financial district, has been a center for the City's civic, economic, political, and cultural life for over 100 years. The building's distinctive architecture, history of notable inhabitants, and ideal location have resulted in making it a prominent landmark. Environmental Building Strategies is working with Clinton Reilly Holdings Business on helping this building receive an ENERGY STAR certification, it currently has a score of 95. After receiving this certification the building is planning on setting up strategies to apply for LEED certification.

EBS was contracted to help this LEED Gold Historic Rehabilitation project with civil engineering calculations as part of its compliance efforts for Sustainable Sites Credit 6.1 and 6.2. Our LEED EDGE software was utilized to calculate the exact runoff percentages through breaking the site into 72 unique sections. Our team's diligence allowed the team to set the definitive LEED site area making Sustainable Sites Credits' 5.1, 5.2 and 6.2 attainable as well.

Literacy for Environmental Justice, a non-profit organization, is fueling this one of a kind project at Hunter's Point in San Francisco. Located on a covered and controlled land fill - the result of a decommissioned PG&E facility - this classroom incorporates everything it means to be sustainable. Social justice combined with the most environmentally forward design and construction practices ensures success for this project.

BAE Systems contact EBS to provide LEED Champion services for their Commercial Interiors build out in Santa Clara. The project consists of a 10,000 sq ft tenant improvement project where EBS conducted a the Design Charrette, LEED Project Management, and successful implementation of our recently developed LEED EDGE tool.

The owner Gordon Development has agreed to implement Energy Efficient Measures (EEM’s) that demonstrate a direct relationship to his NOI and have positive present values with a 5 year time horizon at a 10% discount rate. Furthermore, Gordon Development and Environmental Building Strategies are in the process of certifying the first ever LEED Registered building in the world under the LEED EBOM 2009 criteria. Since first conceptualized Erik Robbins used adaptive re-use, sustainable building materials, high-efficiency climate systems and various other conservation building practices to ensure 543 Howard Street embodies the principles of Green Architecture.

Environmental Building Strategies conducted an on-site audit of Avanti Systems' products to verify their compliance with LEED Credit Criteria. EBS completed a full review of Avanti's partitions, hardware, and framing material as well as developed internal calculation tools to help their project teams realize the benefit of LEED Credit contributions.

Garre Winery is anticipating LEED Certification through coordination of Kelley Project Services and Environmental Building Strategies coordination. EBS is responsible for running all energy simulations for the project, documenting all energy related LEED credits, as is working with Nancy Kelley to bring LEED understanding to a first time LEED project team.
